Eloy Jr. High School

A class reunion is set for October 13-15 for Eloy Zuniga Jr High School, the reunion is for the graduates of 1982. That’s craziness, for those of you who don’t know, My name is Eloy Jr and I was born in 1982. I wonder if I can write to them and be a guest of honor, that would be nice.

Little Miss Sunshine

Went to the movies yesterday and saw “Little Miss Sunshine,” I give it two thumbs up. It’s not action, it’s not drama, it’s a little bit of comedy, it’s just life.

Summer 2006 Ends

Lets see, where should I begin. The last couple of weeks have been great, they’re the last days of summer and they will be missed. Within the last 2 weeks I’ve managed to go out a little bit more here and there between work and school. First and foremost, we took a trip down to huntsville which was peaceful to say the least. It’s trips like huntsville that remind me most of summer; summer is about getting away from it all and remembering … well … the thing’s you’ve forgotten because you haven’t had time for them. Simple things, like swimming, not worrying about time, and realizing that there’s more out there than just myspace.

The pics from huntsville were taken with a kick-ass camera that I (secretly make-out with every now and then) love. The Nikon D70 is the perfect combination of OoOoO and Ahhh wraped in … well … plastic. Needless to say that I played with some of it’s OooOo and Ahhh features and ended up with some nice little pics. I realize that everyone and there mama makes these laser looking photos, but they’re like Tiedye shirts … sure you get the same colors and effects, but each one is somehow unique.

These last couple of days it’s ranged up and down from going to Guady’s for the occasional gang-get-together, some paintballing (which I regret not having any pics for), and a House Party.

Now I’m off to a pool party and I’ll make sure to take plenty of pics. I seriously doubt you’ll get to see much skin because I have enough of a hard time just trying to take pics of my friends with their clothes on.

The Schipul Family

Ahh … good ole’ picture day. You remember when you had to get all nice and perty for the camera. You spend the entire morning worrying about whether or not you were going to make that inevitable goofy face the second the picture was taken.

The driving force behind this creation is Jason, he’s the goofy guy on the left w/ the blonde hair and the stylish tie.

Photolicious

This post is phor my photographic phreaks who phiddle around making phrames of their phabulous photogenic pheatures. Say what? This post is about photos! Phirst I mean first and foremost I finally bought a flickr account … wait a minute; “Eloy, didn’t you already have a Flickr account?” Yes I did, but I never paid for it so I was limited to featuring 200 photos max. I got bored enough one day and one way or another my account number made it to the Flickr Family.

The cool news is … as soon as I purchased my account, the photos featured jumped from 200 to 900+ photos. Apparently Flickr’s been keeping all the photos I ever posted … it just never gave me the ability to view them. All this time I thought they were long gone … I’m not sure if this photo archiving Flickr does is cool or a little scary. Makes you wonder what other websites might archive.

The second news is about picture taking … apparently there’s an image making concept going around known as HDR. I would explain it in detail, but … no. Instead I’ll just let you read about HDR yourself. What I will do, is entice you to click on the link by showing you what I’ve learned. It didn’t come out exactly the way I wanted it to, but this is my first attempt so be nice. I will definitely be trying again, later.

BlockBuster Beta

Shhh … don’t tell anyone, it’s a secret. Ok, it’s not a secret … but it is a beta. Blockbuster is not giving up it’s movie selling empire without a fight. I thought blockbuster was long gone by now with all the cheap (late-fee-free) movies being practically given away by so many new-coming resources.

Late-fee-free, late-fee-free, … sorry it’s fun to say.

I mean come on, how do you compete with movie-rental businesses now-a-days. Yes, I’ll take two whoppers, nuggest with hot-mustard sauce, and two DVD’s from this big red thing. It’s like hey McDonalds, you’re already contributing to obesity … now you’re going to contribute to our obseity laziness.

Let see how else can we can stop humans from moving, I know … we can sell electric wheel chairs!

Ok, I’m sorry guys … this is all you’re fault you should really stop me when I go off and start ranting like that. Back to what I started to say, I’ll try to stay on course this time. Blockbuster has a beta that looks pretty slick. I’m almost impressed.

Blog Parenting

That’s so funny, this morning I woke up with “I haven’t made a post in a while,” and there’s Jerry, beating me to the punch manslaughter.

An interesting idea was brought up by one of my co-workers. I’m still not awake yet, so I can’t remember if this happenend yesterday or the day before … I’m pretty sure it happened yesterday. I don’t even think she realized how brilliant she was with this idea. My boss “J” (Programming Director) over at Schipul.com (blatant self-promotion) gave her son a blog. Her son is rather young, I’ll keep this post non-specific for the safety of … everyone.

She gave her (young) son a blog, out of nowhere. Honestly I think that’s genious, most parents are always trying to figure out ways to talk to their children. Here she is, promoting a way for him to talk to the world .. talk about opening the lines of communication. Now he can speak his mind and she can get a better idea of what’s going on inside of his head, what troubles his life, what he sees as a priority.

Not to mention that it must be pretty cool to get into the head of your own child and relive your moments as a care-free kid. If I had a parenting award for inivative ideas, it would definitely go to Mrs. J. Note: if you’re planning on doing this with your child, remember that there are ground rules. Please tell your child to not give any kind of contact information and avoid the hazzards of turning your great blog into a stalker-happy-myspace.com.
