I woke up early again today. 4 hours of sleep. Not by choice. My head won’t shut up. On a happier note, I’m going to San Francisco towards the end of the month. Woot for me!
On some older news, we wrote memoirs a while back. 6 word memoirs. 6 words to express your (entire) life.
My memoirs are not that insightful, but still worth a read.
Eloy in 6 words
Still loading, please continue to wait
Eloy, smarter than the average bare
Learning off of other peoples mistakes
I can only count to six.
Found at domain name slash eloy
I put the oy in Eloy
For more examples, Check out some of the memoirs that my peeps down at work came up with.
Can you describe your life in 6 words? Maybe I can do it for you.
Ask a deeply religious Christian if he’d rather live next to a bearded Muslim that may or may not be plotting a terror attack, or an atheist that may or may not show him how to set up a wireless network in his house. On the scale of prejudice, atheists don’t seem so bad lately.

I just wanted to toss this out to see what people think. Yeah or nay?
With the growth of transparency across the world, automation, and social-networking; it’s believed that the future might just belong to right brained thinkers. The left brain is used to control logic while the right brain covers the imagination and the funner ends of life.
Logic can now easily be automated. Thought of once and built into a function. If this is the case then there’s only one place for humans to go. A computer up to this point cannot be creative all on it’s own. Does this mean all “serious” jobs will belong to the computer + mechanical world and we’ll be left with nothing to do but play.
This doesn’t mean that you should abandon you’re left brain completely. It just means that you should now consider inviting your right brain a little bit more. For some, this tasks might be easier than for others.
This is the thought in a new book by Pink called A Whole New Mind. Think about it, or better yet … don’t.
This world just gets faster and faster, this coming from a guy who prides himself in keeping up with “today.” The mobile evolution is upon us and we’re still too busy playing on MySpace. While in Michigan I was privileged enough to have a one-on-one conversation with a UI (user-interface) designer from Motorola. Very nice well spoken young lady who was “honestly” very excited about what iPhone was offering.
Mac has done it once again, pushing the limits and leaving all developers wondering … “why didn’t we think of that?” The young representative from Motorola proudly said she was very happy that iPhone is providing a great service for both mobile companies and mobile customers.
iPhone will slowly (not too slowly) but surely open the eyes of the consumer (that’s us) and help us realize that a mobile phone is more than just a mobile phone. Imagine a world where you can walk around while your phone converses with other mobile phones giving you play-by-play information of the building you just passed, or the person who’s walking next to you. Where phones are in constant search looking for those who are most likely to share an interest with you. Where sharing a phone number is as easy as “tapping” two phones together. You’ve heard of “click-to-talk”, is it so hard to imagine “tap to share.”
In a movie this article would be better known as foreshadowing. I’d like to close this articles in the words of Ms. Kara Trostmann “I’m just sayin’.”
I’m at school and I just thought this was worth mentioning. My friend Will is a programmer, but he just spent an hour printing out 1 copy of his report. I thought it was funny and worth mentioning.
Also, my mom yesterday was so excited about ordering the “fight” on paper view that she accidently purchased some porn first. Nice.
My senior project is not completely finished and still needs some touch-up work. This post and those links are provided for you to visit the site, create an account, login and pretty much play with the system if you’d like. Note: you don’t have to login to visit the website, but you do get more features. Feedback is always, always, always appreciated.
I had my presentation just this week and it all went very well, my professors can’t wait to have this new site up as soon as it’s finished. It’s nice to know that I’m leaving something behind.
Just a thought
Now if you read this previous post “wordpress 2.1,” I mentioned that the system being used to manage that content was not mine. That I used wordpress, to manage my content.
I’m happy to announce that the system for http://uhd.eloyz.com just happens to be my very first self-built content management system. I’d never made one before, but it turned out semi-descent. The new UHD website runs a lot like the way this current website runs (contributors will probably understand best).
I’m honestly considering rebuilding this blog or eloyz.com for that matter with my own custom cms system. “What does it matter eloy?” Well, if I design this using my own stuff this website can do anything and I mean anything your little hearts desire and my tiny brain can learn.
It’s just one of those ideas that might just come true. My boss said today that ideas are next to nothing, it’s the execution that means everything. I agree with him and have said it plenty of times myself, but it’s not nice to quote yourself.
Driving one day, I was listening to my violent, low-self esteem, always in defense mode rap music. Of course I remember to turn it down whenever I have to stop my car near others than can hear me “rappin-”out?
I thought to myself, I could never be a rapper. I’m not really angry at anyone or anything. My mom and dad are great. My hood consists of the drunks across the street, the sporadic white folk that walk their dog every chance they get, and those other people that never seem to go in or out of their house. I guess if I had to “represent,” it would be Houston and Houston does a pretty good job of representing itself. I think I had a descent child-hood and society has never really shunned me.
This is why I could never be a rapper, I just don’t have anything to complain about. Although I could try complaining about that fact that I have noting to complain about. I would also append the fact that I can’t rap or have no talent in rapping, but lately neither do a lot of others.
I love this day in age. It’s really hard for me not to. I know that you know that I love what I do. Up to this point there is still no real way for me to describe it. I hope that this love never dies, whether it’s the love for what I do now or the love for what I do tomorrow. I cannot and do not want to imagine a world where I don’t have some “thing” to look forward to. Up to this point there has been no real way for me to tangibly express how I feel. But I found a video and I think it might just give you a glimpse of what I and other like me see.
