We spend a month embarrassing ourselves by not shaving and looking like dirty-faces while we beg people to give to a cause. At the end of the month we have a competition. In this case our last day is on December 5th.
We then play crazy games, which prove nothing about our character or the awesomeness of our mustaches. It’s more about crowd presence and how much you can embarrass yourself while using you’re new-found-mustache as an excuse to act not-so-bright.
I’m hoping to get it on video or at least get a video from someone there so that you can take part in our shenanigans if you can’t come down and join us. At the very least, some photos … right?

I’m a huge fan of A List Apart. It’s a wonderful website that shares knowledge in all areas of web; aesthetic as well as functional design. It’s a great resource for any and all web developers. If you are a web developer of any sort I’m sure you’ve heard of the site, if not I’m going to punch you in the </head>.
Last year A List Apart created an amazing survey that gave me a better grasp of where my future was going and how my current career choice stood against others in the field.
I — like many — am a huge advocate of clarity and this survey definitely provided it. This year I’m thankful to say that I was able to contribute and submit my 2 clicks … OK so it was more like 5.
If you’re a web developer in any sense of the word I strongly encourage you to contribute 4 minutes of your time to filling out the survey.
I woke up early again today. 4 hours of sleep. Not by choice. My head won’t shut up. On a happier note, I’m going to San Francisco towards the end of the month. Woot for me!

People aways asked me… bob you’re a tech guy… you’re in the know… what is up with HDTV??? I told these friends well its all part of a plan by to government to make up for the deficit. They are going to to sell the regular SDTV channels to wireless carriers to finance the US global plan to take over the world.(J/K) NO, but really they plan on selling them for big bucks. In part they say its because they want to avoid another fiasco like the one caused by sprint/nextel when they tried to launch their GSM service and blacked out all the emergency channels but I really think its for the money … or they just want to take over the world. Well here is the proof the FCC has started an auction to sell them and Google is in the auction hoping to make out like bandit so they can launch their Google fone. Read More HERE and HERE
As a side note I am back in College Station and with out cable so I discovered that the bs about buying special rabbit ears to pick up HD is crap. I hook up the ears from my old SDTV that only pick up 2 snow filled channels and much to my surprise I get like ten channels in HD and SD that are crystal clear when I hooked them up to my HDTV. Good ol’ Westy. It takes me back to junior year when I lived with my buddies, Ronnie and Tato, and the infamous wardrobe malfunction… through all the snow Tato was like “that was her boob.” Memories…
Anyway I think its all crap because they are going to spend more on subsidies to fund converter boxes than what they make. More on DTV .
I’m posting this because I’m big on health. I’m also posting this because I want the men of the world to understand that they do contribute a lot to this world even though they don’t feel that they always do.
So men, keep doing what you do, and women … keeping allowing us to help. Thank you North Carolina State University for making this a better tomorrow.
