Hypothetical Baby

A good friend of mine asked me an interesting question the other day. She asked me if I had a child (yikes! … I really shouldn’t breed), and I had a choice between the child and my wife, who would I choose. I’m really not sure how in gods-green-earth we got to this conversation, so it wasn’t very specific at the time. I’m going to assume specifics so that it’s easier to give a hypothetical answer.
Assume this child is just coming out of moms belly, or assume the child has been with you for at least a week. Who would you choose, given your current age and status. Does your age and status make that big a difference, does that one week make a difference?
I being a fairly young man shouted out “wife!” Because I’m a prick-of-a-man who’s first thought was “I don’t wanna’ kid!” Maybe you can give a more intelligent answer to defend the male species.

I bet your answer changes when you start being fruitful and multiplying. But I’m not a rep of the male species and have significant mommy hormones to factor in here.
You know what really freaks me out? The possibility of ever having to choose between children… that Sophie’s Choice (with Meryl Streep) has scarred me for life. Or what if you had to choose between your kid and someone else’s? Messed up stuff yo.

Well being the good friend with this awesome hypothetical question. And being your typical wanna-be-future-MILF, I thought BABY…duh! Baby, why would I want to live when I could save the life of my child. It seemed like such a obvious answer. But then, when asked the same question flipped, would I pick the daddy or the baby. It made me think. Would I really want to raise a child without my husband there?
I did my little non-scientific poll with some friends mainly guys and asked the same question. They all said with out even thinking, the mama! There comment was why would I want to have a baby if I had no-one to share it with. Raising a child alone didn’t seem to high on their list!
One even went as far as to say “You can have another baby” but can you find another love of your life, who want to have another child with?
OK I have officially left the longest commented in my history.
GOOD LUCK WITH FINALS TO ALL!
